Female ejaculation is a fascinating phenomenon. For the longest time the ability to ejaculate was believed to be exclusively a male privilege, but little did we know!

What is Female Ejaculation Exactly?

Female ejaculation is the release of fluid that comes straight from the urethra during an orgasm or strong sexual arousal and originates in the Skene’s glands, also known as the female prostate.

Female ejaculation doesn’t happen to everyone, and if it does, it’s usually not regular. However, it’s perfectly normal, so anyone experiencing it shouldn’t be worried.

What Does Female Ejaculation consist of?

There are still debates about the exact composition of female ejaculation fluids as research is rather limited. However, it is believed to consist of:

  • PSA or prostate-specific antigen
  • Glucose
  • Enzymes

Why Does Female Ejaculation Happen?

Again, the topic is under-researched, so there is still a lot to learn about female sexuality in general and ejaculation in particular.

Having said that, the current understanding is that it comes from stimulation of a little area that’s about 1-2 inches inside the vagina – the G-spot. Stimulating G-spot triggers the Skene’s glands to release the fluid that is known as female ejaculation.

G-spot, in general, creates a unique orgasming sensation, so if you’ve never paid attention to it, you certainly should.

What Does Female Ejaculation Feel Like?

If you’ve never dealt with female ejaculation before, a fair question would be to ask what it actually feels like for both the woman and her partner.

For women, female ejaculation is:

  1. A sudden release of the pressure sensation that’s been building up for a while.
  2. Similar to the feeling of needing to pee but when you actually enjoy it.
  3. Often surprising as it’s unexpected but always pleasant.
  4. May happen separately from an orgasm.

For partners:

  1. A sudden wet sensation that can either be intense or actually be released slowly.
  2. During penetrative sex, it will feel like rhythmic contractions.

In terms of smell, the fluid that comes out from female ejaculation is usually completely odorless or just faintly smelling.

If it smells, it usually has a musky or earthy scent. If you get some of the fluid in your mouth, the taste that you’ll feel will probably be sweet or very neutral, depending on the woman’s diet, hydration levels, and lifestyle. Some describe it as nutty or slightly urine-like.

Overall, due to what goes into the female ejaculation fluid and it being mostly water, any smell or taste you get will be very weak and not throw you off at all.

Female Ejaculation vs Squirting

You’d think that female ejaculation and squirting are two sides of the same coin, but that’s not really the case. Both are a natural, although not too common, response to pleasure and active stimulation, and it’s possible that a woman can get one but not the other, both, or none.

Female ejaculation is usually rather mild in terms of how much fluid comes out. Squirting, on the other hand, produces a large amount of liquid, so you won’t mix the two of them if you experience both.

In terms of consistency, ejaculation’s fluid is typically thicker and it’s of a milky color. Squirt’s liquid comes mostly from the bladder (although it’s not the same as urine) so it’s a more diluted fluid. Female ejaculation comes from the female prostate.

The key difference factors are:

  • Origin
  • Fluid composition
  • Volume of fluid

Female Ejaculation vs Vaginal Lubrication

Female ejaculation and vaginal lubrication have very different purposes.

Vaginal lubrication is produced by the body to help women feel more comfort and arousal, while ejaculation happens from the result of said pleasure and arousal. Both are heavily influenced by the woman’s stress levels, hormones, and nutrition and hydration.

How Often Does Female Ejaculation Happen?

There’s really no average for female ejaculation. Some women have it once or twice in their lives, others experience it on a regular basis, and some women never get that at all. Every experience is normal, and none of them are simultaneously normal because it’s so personal and unique for everyone.

Also, it’s possible that a woman had a female ejaculation but didn’t realize what it was. If you don’t know about this phenomenon, and you just have some extra fluid come out and a pleasant feeling, you might dismiss it for regular vaginal lubrication, or semen if you had penetrative sex without a condom.

Moreover, depending on the woman’s anatomy, she’ll produce more or less of the fluid. So it’s very possible that she experienced it but has no clue it ever happened.

Is Female Ejaculation Good for Women?

Female ejaculation is a side product of sexual stimulation, and it’s definitely a good thing to happen to a woman.

Why?

First of all, some women find it to enhance their pleasure. Then it also is associated with stress release. The tension in the body (although positive) is built up, and then it’s gone through the ejaculation.

Also, it’s very good for experiencing new sensations with your body and boosting confidence. You learn that your body can do this new surprising thing, and it’s an exciting and thrilling thing to learn about. It’s also a unique experience to share with a partner, so it creates a memory and helps them bond even further.

How to Achieve Female Ejaculation: Exploration Tips

If you’re a woman curious about female ejaculation or her partner who’d like to explore it and try to have your lady achieve it, then here are several tips for you to make the most of the experiments.

  1. Talk about it with your partner. Show curiosity, ask them if they’d be down to explore it and have some fun in the bedroom. Exploration like that will possibly require a change in your routine, so it’s better to have everyone on board with the idea first.
  2. Don’t think that it’s guaranteed. Female ejaculation is a rather niche event, otherwise everyone would have known about it. Not every woman’s body can produce it, but it doesn’t mean anything. You can have great sex and be super compatible with your partner and never experience it, or you can be horrible together but have ejaculations left and right.
  3. Pace yourselves. This is not a business school project, and you’re not on a deadline. If you lean into it too much, you’ll only delay the desired result. Orgasms aren’t well achieved under pressure, and unique bodily reactions aren’t likely to occur in a stressful environment either.
  4. Focus on foreplay. Some women may get super aroused and ready to go out of nowhere, but the majority will take extended foreplay over a quick thing any day. So really take your time with extended foreplay, move slowly, go for both tried-and-tested and unorthodox erogenous zones, and see where it takes you.
  5. Focus on relaxation and comfort. No bright lights, loud noises, or any other factors that will make the woman feel stressed or not fully relaxed.

Work on the G-spot

G-spot is the originator of female ejaculation and it needs to receive most of the attention.

Use different techniques to get the result you want. Try different:

  • Angles
  • Pressure
  • Motions
  • Rhythm

Apply:

  • Fingers
  • Sex toys for G-spot
  • Penis (if you have one)

Clitoral stimulation may help as well as it will add to the experience, boost her arousal, and make her more relaxed and joyful in the process.

What works for one woman won’t help the other, so make sure you go through all options and watch the bodily reaction to see which part she enjoys the most.

What If You Can’t Have Female Ejaculation

Female ejaculation is a beautiful thing, but it won’t happen for every woman.

That’s totally fine and normal, and you shouldn’t be upset about it, unless, of course, you were super curious to see what it feels like. However, please know that ejaculation is not required for pleasure or to have mind-blowing orgasms. You can absolutely enjoy your sexy time with your partner, even if no ejaculation fluid ever comes out of you.

Also, it’s really hard to tell whether you can’t have female ejaculation or it simply hasn’t happened for you yet. So much goes into this phenomenon. Your mental state and levels of stress, sexual compatibility with the partner as well as your emotional bond, your confidence and comfort in your own body, lack of stimulation or stimulation that just doesn’t do it for you, – all those play a big role in whether or not you get the ejaculation.

If you’ve tried again and again but nothing seems to help get it, just leave it be for a while. Continue having fun and doing different things in the bedroom, explore toys and types of techniques to give yourself orgasms, and maybe one day you’ll get to know what female ejaculation feels like. And if not, well, you’ll learn plenty of pleasuring techniques and have multiple great orgasms in the meantime.
